Our volunteering philosophy is rooted in ubuntu — the African understanding that our individual wellbeing is inseparable from the wellbeing of our communities. When we serve, we do not do so as outsiders helping those in need. We serve as community members, building together, learning together, and growing together.

Community waste champion

Go door-to-door, educate neighbors on separation at source, and help households make the zero waste transition - one home at a time.

Greenkasi clean-up crew

Join weekend clean-up drives to clear illegal dumping sites and restore dignity to public spaces. Physical, meaningful, and immediately visible work.

Schools environmental educator

Facilitate age-appropriate environmental lessons, support eco-clubs, and help learners lead recycling initiatives in their schools and homes.

Data and monitoring volunteer

Support the M&E team with community waste audits, data collection, and impact tracking — helping us measure what matters.

Skills-based volunteer

Offer your professional skills — in communications, technology, legal, finance, or logistics — to build the organisational capacity of the programme.

Greenkasi youth mentor

Mentor young people in the communities we serve — providing guidance, career support, and a consistent adult presence in their lives
